When researching Qatari lifestyle, we found what we thought to be an appropriate video.
Here is the link:
We found the video very informative as it’s taught us more about family life in Qatar, and how it’s changed so dramatically in a short space of time.
The video also talks about how the architecture in the capital, Doha, is disconnected from each other. The presenter in the video explains how Doha’s skyline looks like it was designed by architects who didn’t talk to each other, didn’t like each other, and engaged in experiments they could never get away with at home.
We personally think that there is a lot of talented architects who have contributed to Doha’s skyline and we really appreciate the many different styles of architecture however we do agree with what is stated in the video. The skyline looks very disorganised. Perhaps the skyline was built too quickly and the government didn’t realise that they were rushing the formation of the city. We could be totally wrong about this, so we would really appreciate the opinion of the Qatari students on this topic. Do you guys think Doha’s skyline looks good?
